If you're considering Croatia as a holiday destination, and are trying to make your mind up about where to go, one of the ultimate holidays must be Island Hopping up and down the coastline starting in Split and make stops at Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik. We suggest this tailor made itinerary that takes in the two main areas of the country, the immaculate coastline and its spectacular islands. Croatia is one of Europe's best destinations for concerts and festivals. Dubrovnik and Split summer festivals (July to August) offer world-class music, opera, ballet and theatre as well as art and folklore exhibitions.
Split is the second largest city in Croatia, and is seen as the hub of the coastline. The city is full of listed sights and museums. An absolute MUST do, is to spend one evening hanging out in the old town, you would love the ambient of the bars Puls, Ghetto and Gaga just to mention a few.
Hvar is the place to see and be seen and is the island most frequented by celebs, Eva Longoria, Kevin Spacey, Demi Moore and Gwyneth Paltrow, all spotted eating out in Hvar.
The Island of Korcula is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic Sea, with abundant vineyards and olive groves. Its southern coast is formed by small beaches and quiet coves.
While in Dubrovnik, visit the secluded Franciscan monastery, the handsome Rector's Palace, and then stroll up and down the elegant, car-free main street, its flagstones polished to a sheen by centuries of shoes.
