The highlights of this multi-activity adventure holiday include canoeing/kayaking, rafting, hiking and cycling in the area around Plitvice Lakes National Park while experiencing breath-taking views and stunning scenery of Croatia.
Plitvice Lakes National Park, a World Heritage Site, plays host to 16 lakes, numerous waterfalls fed by both the Black and White Rivers, as well as seemingly endless forests which make for unique and unforgettable experiences.
The itinerary will also take you on a journey down the Mreznica River by kayak or canoe, rafting down the Una River in Bosnia and hiking in Velebit Nature Park with a visit of the Adriatic coast.

Accommodation is in the pleasant guest houses in Korana Village, a small romantic place hidden away in a valley by the river in Plitvice Lakes National Park. The peaceful atmosphere makes for an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area.
Due to flights, you will be spending the first, the ninth and the tenth night in 4 Hotel Kolovare in Zadar on BB basis.

Day 1
Arrival in Zadar Airport and transfer to 4 Hotel Kolovare for 1 night stay.

Day 2
Transfer from Zadar to Korana Village. Welcome drink at the riverside hacienda and a brief introduction of the upcoming holiday.

Day 3
Walking along the wooden paths and bridges in Plitvice Lakes, Croatia's premier national park. After panoramic boat and train ride return to Korana village to enjoy swimming in the river in front of your guesthouse house. Walking: 4-6 miles; Terrain: easy, well marked paths.

Day 4
Today is all about exploring the lovely pastoral Croatian countryside by bike. We cycle on nearly traffic free roads through forests, between hills and across green fields. In the afternoon we bike back to Korana Village in time to enjoy a traditional Croatian evening meal. Cycling: 4 hours; Terrain: rolling hills. (Please note that cycling the entire route may be too difficult for small children, but the support van can pick them up and take them back to the village if they are tired.)

Day 5
Travel to the upper Mreznica River Canyon and paddling past cliffs of carved white rocks, lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls - a magical place ideal for swimming and a picnic. Kayaking: class II-III, moderate, 4 - 5 hours; Drive: 45 min each way. Please note that in case of very low water levels the trip can only be done downstream - in that case the duration of kayaking is 2-3 hours. In case of high water levels we use rafting boats (2 hours of rafting).

Day 6
On the fifth day of your holiday you can be as active or as lazy as you want. You can relax by the river, swim or even take another optional cycling tour on your own in and around Plitvice Lakes National Park. Several river, walking, sightseeing or beach trips will be offered, in case you are keen on discovering more beauties that Croatia has to offer.

Day 7
Hiking in the unspoiled nature of Velebit Mountain.Van ride: 2h one way; Walking: moderate, 4 hours.

Day 8
The rafting on The Una River that forms a natural border between Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.Van ride: 1h one way; Rafting: class I-III, 2-3 hours.

Day 9 - 10
Depart from Korana Village to Hotel Kolovare in Zadar.

Day 11Transfer from hotel to Zadar Airport for your homeward flight. Optionally you can extend your stay on Dalmatian Coast for another few days..

This itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, weather conditions and forecasts, water levels, special events and interest. Our guides reserve the right to alter the itinerary without prior notice.
