Hello Croatia People, Had a brilliant time with Croatia Tours. Your Service was equal to none. Do ye cover any other destinations or is it a silly question? Best Regards and thanks sooo much. :)
We had a fantastic trip and think we were quite lucky with the weather - just a couple of cloudy days. We thought the landscape of Montenegro was very pretty but we were abit disappointed by the 2 nearest towns and proximity to Budva. The beach beyond our private beach wasn't nice and the walk to Budva wasn't pleasant so we just got taxis. Our rep said the only day trip was 4 hrs away so as we were only there for a few days we just made the most of the hotel which we did really enjoy. There was a conference on but apart from the delegates it was pretty empty - out of season I guess. But we enjoyed the 5 star treatment which was a novelty for our honeymoon - waiter service on the private beach and pool-side, turn-down with chocolates etc, spa treatments and facilities, the outdoor pools were great and the bedrooms and bathrooms were nice. So we were glad we chose the Hotel Splendid. As for Croatia, as you know we had stayed in Hotel Croatia in Cavtat before and it didn't disappoint. Apart from the bedrooms being pretty outdated and the building itself is a block of concrete, we loved the pools, swimming & dining right beside the sea, restaurants, views of Cavtat and the staff were really friendly! Everything was so cheap in Croatia compared to Montenegro. Thank you again for all your help deciding. We would definitely use you again and recommend you to our friends and family. :)
Hi Sharon, Just a few words about our holidays.... The hotel in Montenegro is very modern and set amidst lovely gardens and two pools that lead directly onto the beach and paved promenade, where you can enjoy a lovely walk and stop at the beachside cafes for a cold drink or a bite to eat, obviously this would be a lot livelier in the busy season, but it was still very pleasant. The hotel is very bright and airy and clean, we has been upgraded to a side seaview room, that had a lovely outlook over the trees, to the ocean and the mountains, we only had a very small balcony but the rooms beside us all had very spacious balconies, ideal for sitting back and taking in the glorious view. I would suggest that you pay the extra for a seaview room, if you were wanting to spend some time in your room. The room itself was a good size and again everything was very clean, the only drawback was a not very comfortable twin beds pushed together to make a double and an extra charge if you wanted to use the safe, even though it was already fitted in the room!!! Also no tea or coffee in the room but I guess this is to push the all inclusive deals. We were on a half board basis and the breakfast/dining room was very big and busy, the staff were friendly and on the go constantly setting and resetting tables, with regards to the food the breakfast was really good, there was a large and varied amount to choose from and all good quality but the evening meal was another story, thankfully we were happy to eat out in Budva and we did on two of the nights, as the dinner options were really not good at all. This is where the only main fault lay, that of a hotel this size they did not have an a la carte option (maybe they do in the busy season?). I need another holiday!! All the very best
! It is Catherine and Carl here , we are thinking of you today Maja as we are enjoying the very beautiful surroundings of the forest park with lovely sea and magnificant sunsets. The Lone hotel is amazing we love it !!! Totally modern luxerious and state of the art. We are so happy we came here although a bit more expensive a real treat to experience it. The hotel staff are unbelievably friendly we got a stunning room on the 3rd floor over looking the pool areas and park it is breathtaking... plus they sent us a bottle of prosecco courtesy of the hotel because it is our anniversary coming up! At breakfast so attentive and friendly.spa area is out of this world. We really think at Croatia travel you should really put this hotel on your books I'm definitely going to recommend it to friends at work , as they are dying to know how we get on and they will try it . The location is super very rare to get a location as good as this. Weather has been bad raining and thunderstorms for 5 days in a row ..but glad when sun came out yesterday ! We got to go and visit Porec ....fab too. We just adore Rovinj quaint little wine bars and restaurants and winding backstreets so full of character .. Just wanted to thank you for recommending Istria to us .... we think Rovinj is a real hidden gem so beautiful !!!! Hope to find you well Maja, both Carl and I were saying that you are very lucky to have been born in such a beautiful country with vast landscapes each more lovlier than the next and such warm hearted people with a love and passion for their food and land! Thank you again .... Kindest regards catherine and carl .
Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in Croatia. The hotel Millennium in Opatija was delightful and then the Eden in Roveinj provided the perfect contrast. Thank you for your recommendations and for organising the transfers; everything went smoothly and all the reps were very helpful. Even the bad weather didn't dampen our spirits! Kind regards, Mary
Hi Sharon, We had a wonderful relaxing holiday in beautiful Croatia. We flew to Pula and arrived in our first destination Lovran late at night where we were greeted by the warm and welcoming lady who owned the apartment we were staying in. After offering us to share a drink with her she very kindly took us on a short tour of the small historical town of Lovran with its narrow streets and beautiful buildings. There was a lovely atmosphere and in the restaurants locals made a great effort to converse with us. Our accommodation was full of old world charm and everything was to a very high standard and we were made feel most welcome. We spent just one day there exploring the lovely coast. I think it is a really relaxing sedate place appealing to perhaps a more middle aged group as opposed to teenagers. We then moved on to the the area of Porec which most certainly did not disappoint! We stayed in the beautiful Villamar Diamonte Hotel which was fabulous. Set in a lush woodland area the hotel had everything you could wish for and the sheer array of delicious food was just amazing. There were both indoor and outdoor pools and the because of the coastal setting there was ample interesting parts to frequent. There were lots of water sports available and this was a lively place for young and old. The weather was lovely while we were there and the bustling town of Porec was only a 15 minute walk away with its markets and lovely restaurants. It is a beautiful picturesque place with spectacular scenery and a huge Italian influence in its arquitecture and its food. It offered everything you could possibly wish for and I have no hesitation in saying that we had a lovely relaxing enjoyable holiday! We found the Croatian people to be very welcoming friendly and hospitable and the Adriatic Coast proved to be a delight! Kind regards,
Dear Maja, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising the holiday for us. Everything went to plan and all the transfers were there on time and were all so helpful. All our guides were lovely people and it couldn't have gone any smoother. We had a super time in Croatia (apart from the rain for the first week) it is a beautiful country and we are now both Croatian Wine experts. Once again thank you so much for such a professional and organised trip and I will recommend your firm to anybody I know who is planning on going to Croatia.
Hi Maja, We had a great holiday. Korcula was great. Very hot. Lapad was really lovely. Bit cooler than Korcula which was nice. Hotel Uvala was fabulous. Great food, lovely staff. Got a room on third floor with balcony and sea-view which was great. Would definitely stay there again. Uvala was so nice and convenient to all the facilities of Lapad. And the bus stops for Dubrovnik were outside the front door which was great. Anyway it was a great holiday, Maja and we just wanted to say thanks.
Dear Sharon I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful week we had in Montenegro. It was hard work and quite exhausting but everyone involved in Croatia Tours, Budva Travel, the tourist board and the drivers were so professional, helpful and so good natured that it made my job a great deal easier. Looking back at what we filmed Montenegro looks simply stunning and I have no doubt that when it goes out on TV many more Irish holiday makers will travel there next summer. Regards Waddell Media
Sharon Mljet was just beautiful very quiet at night no night life as such, hotel was very basic but was ok for price we paid a little more expensive than mainland croatia due to fact it was an island and everything was brought in by boat the journey over was a bit of a tour, a two hour car trip and then an hour by boat but we enjoyed not for the faint hearted. Not sure about families, we spent most days in national park which was just beautiful you could swim in lake, lovely walks and take some trips by boat again not sure if enough of activities for younger people. Lovely swimming place beside hotel with plenty of sun beds and the water was so clear and blue, would go back in the morning:!!! if you like quiet, relaxing and plenty of nature just lovely, keep me in mind if there are any cheap deals in September , October Thanks again for your help in finding Mljet
